Giving back to our community is at the heart of the Glen Ellyn Junior Woman's Club.
Through a variety of hands-on service projects, our members come together to support local families, children, and organizations throughout Glen Ellyn and the surrounding communities.
From longstanding holiday traditions to year-round community initiatives, we're proud to make a difference where it's needed most.
Volunteer Firefighter Thanksgiving Dinner
Each November, Glen Ellyn Junior Woman's Club members come together to prepare and deliver a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, complete with all the trimmings, for the Glen Ellyn Volunteer Firefighters.
This longtime Juniors tradition is our way of saying thank you to the firefighters who generously volunteer their time to help deliver Christmas Baskets to local families and seniors each December.
It's a wonderful opportunity for our members to give back to those who do so much for our community.
Christmas Baskets Sponsor-A-Family Program
Each holiday season, the Glen Ellyn Junior Woman's Club brings our community together to make Christmas brighter for local families and seniors in need.
Through our Christmas Baskets Sponsor-A-Family Program, we provide gifts, food, toiletries, and other essentials to families throughout Glen Ellyn School Districts 41 and 89. Last year, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, donors, and volunteers, we supported 170 families and seniors, reaching 600 - 700 neighbors.
A Tradition of Giving Since 1949
What began as a small effort to provide food baskets to families in need has grown into one of our largest annual service projects. Nearly eight decades later, our mission remains the same: bringing neighbors together to make a meaningful difference in our community.

Annual Toy Drive
Each holiday season, the Glen Ellyn Junior Woman's Club collects toys for more than 200 local children through our Christmas Baskets Sponsor-A-Family Program.
Thanks to the generosity of our community, we help ensure that children in Glen Ellyn School Districts 41 and 89 have gifts to open on Christmas morning.
How You Can Help
Donate a new, unwrapped toy for a child from birth through age 11. Toys, books, games, and craft kits are welcome, with items for older children (ages 9–11) especially appreciated.
Whether you prefer to shop locally, purchase gifts through our Amazon Wish List, or make a monetary donation, there are plenty of ways to participate.

Project Linus
Glen Ellyn Junior Woman's Club members proudly support Project Linus by creating handmade fleece blankets for children receiving care at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital.
Project Linus is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing love, warmth, security, and comfort to children who are seriously ill, experiencing trauma, or otherwise in need.
Through this meaningful service project, our members come together to create blankets that offer a little extra comfort to children during difficult times.
