About
The Glen Ellyn Junior Woman’s Club invites you to make a meaningful impact by joining our Christmas Baskets Sponsor-A-Family Program. For over 70 years, this program has brought warmth and support to our community, helping nearly 170 families and seniors - over 700 individuals - each year.
How You Can Help:
🎁 Sponsor a Family – Provide a local family with essentials like food, toiletries, clothing, and gifts, including toys for their children. Every family deserves holiday joy, and your sponsorship makes it possible!

What Your Sponsorship Means:
Your generosity ensures that each child receives at least one new toy and families receive essential items they need. Together, we partner with local schools (D41 and D89), Glenbard West’s student council, and Glen House Food Pantry to make this program a success.

Christmas Baskets Sponsor-A-Family Program
About
The Glen Ellyn Junior Woman's Club has proudly served the community for over 70 years, and its Christmas Baskets Sponsor-A-Family Program stands as a flagship initiative.
Starting November 1st, this program supports nearly 170 families and seniors each year - benefiting over 700 people in total. Last year alone, our toys reached over 220 children as part of this expansive outreach.
Partnering with local elementary schools (D41 and D89 combined), Glenbard West's student council, and the Glen House Food Pantry, the program provides each child with at least one new toy and supplies families with essential items like food, toiletries, and clothing. Volunteers, including Glen Ellyn Volunteer Firefighters and Junior volunteers, deliver these much-needed supplies on Saturday, December 13th.
In the lead-up to Delivery Day, volunteers participate in Super Thursday on December 11th, where they help prepare items for distribution. With drop-in hours from 7 AM to 8 PM, volunteers can choose flexible shifts, or sign up as all-day helpers.
Early sign-up is encouraged, as volunteer spots fill quickly! Sign up here.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THE CHRISTMAS BASKETS PROGRAM
A thorough summary of our flagship service project
What does it mean to sponsor a family? Each person in a sponsored family receives new, personalized gifts chosen from their list of needs and wishes - everything from clothing and household essentials to special holiday treats. Families vary in size, and we’ll help match you with one that fits your giving goals. We also proudly sponsor senior citizens in our community. Who sponsors the families? Anyone can participate! Individuals, families, playgroups, neighborhoods, organizations, and local businesses all take part in spreading holiday cheer through our Christmas Baskets Sponsor-A-Family Program. What’s included in a “basket”? The word “basket” hardly captures the generosity involved! Each sponsored family receives new gifts, toys, food, and more. •Local businesses and schools (D89 & D41 combined) host an annual toy drive so every child gets at least one new toy. •Glenbard West provides toiletries through their student-run drive. •Partner civic organizations and the Glen House Food Pantry ensure every family receives non-perishable groceries and a gift card for fresh food. Together, these donations fill Parkview’s gym with gifts, food, and kindness for hundreds of neighbors. Who delivers to the families? Volunteers do! Many sponsors choose to deliver personally, but it’s optional. We also rely on amazing community helpers, including Glen Ellyn’s Volunteer Fire Department, who spend Saturday, December 13th delivering joy across town all morning long. Where do the families live? All families live within the Glen Ellyn area and the Glen Ellyn School Districts. Your support directly impacts local neighbors. How are families identified? Local school social workers identify families in need. This year, we’ll serve approximately 170 families and seniors - over 700 individuals in total. Are there other ways to help? Absolutely! You can: •Purchase gifts, donate money, or contribute gift cards. •Donate toys or supplies such as gift bags, tape, tissue, and wrapping paper. •Volunteer your time — we need helping hands to wrap toys, assemble baskets, and load deliveries on: oSuper Thursday, December 11th (wrapping and organizing) oDelivery Day, December 13th What if I don’t have time to sponsor or volunteer? You can still make a difference! A monetary donation to our Sponsor-A-Family Program helps us fill in the gaps and meet every family’s needs. Last year, your generosity brought the magic of Christmas to more than 700 individuals - filling Parkview’s gym with thoughtfully chosen gifts, food, toiletries, extra toys and books for children. Every dollar helps bring warmth and hope to our community. Where is the event located? All Christmas Basket activities take place at: Parkview Community Church 764 St. Charles Rd, Glen Ellyn (in front of Ackerman Park)
